Alexandra Cricket oval gets a revamp
As part of their 67minutes for Mandela day Cricket South Africa and Imperial came to donate and refurbish the Alexandra Cricket oval.
The club house was repainted and trees were planted all around the Oval. Above all, the Alexandra Cricket oval received a donation of R100 000 from Imperial.
Lesiba Mailola, the Chairperson of the Alex Oval said they are very grateful to Imperial for the donation and it will help towards paying for transportation to and from cricket games.
Renovations at the Alexandra Cricket oval was an enhancement to uplifting the community through sports. Greg Fredericks from Cricket South Africa Board said, it is important to have good sporting facilities so that the sport itself can be good.
The Alexandra Cricket oval is a home to more than 400 kids who love cricket and Lesiba said he hopes more kids join them so that Alexandra can produce more Kagiso Rabadas.
