Jozi@work employees are continuing with their strike which started since 2 January 2018.
Earlier today, the strikers again ran amok, burning tyres and spreading garbage on the roads at Pan Africa CBD, disrupting the easy flow of traffic.
The striking workers seem more determined than ever, on Monday workers halted operations at the Pikitup depot in Marlboro preventing waste collection trucks from leaving the premises.
Jozi@work employees told Alex Fm News that they won’t back down until their cry has been heard.
Meanwhile, Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba has labeled the strike as another cheap political card scoring to destabilize service delivery in city.
One of the leaders “Kaygee” says workers demand to be employed permanent and be incorporated into Pikitup, they also demand salary increase from R120.00 to R150.00 per day.”
